About Me
I am a mental health counselor based in Chester County, PA. I offer individual therapy and couples and family counseling. I specialize in anxiety and depression; abuse and trauma; women’s issues and cultural oppression; eating concerns; life transitions, aging, and meaning-making; and relationship difficulties. I am a culturally-sensitive therapist experienced in treating individuals representing a diverse array of ethnic backgrounds. I integrate insight-oriented approaches with Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Attachment Theory.
I also offer coaching in personal and professional skills development. Areas of expertise include career guidance, conflict resolution, self-motivation, stress management, communication skills, and personal efficacy.
I hold a Master’s degree and an Education in Science degree in professional counseling from Seton Hall University as well as a Master’s degree in communication.
I am a married mother of two nearly-grown children, three cats, two dogs, and a handful of chickens. I began my professional career in the fast-paced and exciting field of public relations working in the healthcare sector in New York City. For many years hence, raising my children in the beautiful, rolling hills of Chester County was my number one job. With my kids nearly college age, I endeavored to pursue what I believe is my life’s highest purpose — second only to motherhood —as a mental health counselor. I have a complex personal history and bring to my role a tremendous amount of what I have come to call, “earned empathy.” I believe in making meaning from adversity and helping others to not just survive but thrive.
